Toddlers

What this looks like at home
Your toddler melts down over small things, the wrong cup, leaving the park, getting dressed. They hit, bite, throw, or scream when frustrated. Bedtime drags and mornings feel rushed and loud. You repeat yourself, bargain, or threaten. Then you snap, then you feel guilty. You start wondering if your child is unusually difficult, or if you are failing at this stage.
What is usually driving it
Toddlers have big emotions and limited self control. Their brain cannot reliably do waiting, flexibility, impulse control, or disappointment yet. Language is still developing, so frustration often comes out physically. Hunger, tiredness, overstimulation, and rushed transitions amplify everything. Much of what gets labelled as “bad behaviour” is normal development plus missing skills. Toddlers need calm leadership, clear limits, and repeated coaching, not fear, shame, or pain.
What we work on
- Responding to tantrums without giving in or escalating
- Stopping hitting, biting, kicking, and throwing with firm safety limits
- Setting toddler limits that stick, with simple follow through
- Transition tools for leaving, sharing, and stopping play
- Separation and clinginess, what helps and what backfires
- Sleep routines and bedtime boundaries that reduce battles
- Screen boundaries that do not become a daily war
- Environment tweaks that prevent repeat triggers
Tools you will learn
Short scripts for the heat of the moment, plus routines you can repeat daily. You get a simple limit script, a safety plan for biting and hitting, and a clear tantrum pathway. You also learn transition language, first then scripts, timer routines, and quick connection play that reduces attention seeking. You leave with a toddler routine blueprint for mornings, meals, sleep, and screens.
Suggested ways to get support
Workshops are the fastest way to learn toddler tools and routines with examples you can copy. 1 to 1 Coaching is best if the battles are daily, you are parenting across households, or multiple caregivers need alignment. Talks and Seminars work for nurseries and early years settings that want a consistent approach.
